Connecting your social accounts

Go to Accounts and click Add social network to connect a platform. SlingAgent can target a connected account when generating promos and post to it (with Publish now or Auto). Your plan sets how many accounts you can connect (see Plans & limits).

A couple of networks are still finishing app review. If a platform connects but posting doesn't work yet, it's still being enabled — it isn't something wrong on your end.

Platforms in review — join the waitlist

A couple of networks are still finishing their app-review process, so they show a Notify me button in the connect grid instead of a live connection. Right now that's Pinterest and TikTok. Tap Notify me to join the waitlist for that platform and we'll email you the moment it goes live — no need to keep checking back. Everything else (Bluesky, Mastodon, LinkedIn, X, Threads, Facebook, and Instagram) connects today.

Platform-by-platform

• Bluesky — create an App Password in Bluesky (Settings → Privacy and Security → App Passwords), then enter your handle and that app password. Never use your main password.
• Mastodon — enter your instance (e.g. mastodon.social) and an access token created under Preferences → Development → New Application with the write scope.
• LinkedIn — click connect and authorize. Posts share to your profile. Heads-up: LinkedIn requires reconnecting about every 60 days — it doesn't allow long-lived automatic sessions the way other platforms do. Your connection shows an Expiring badge ~2 weeks ahead, so just reconnect when you see it and autopilot keeps running without a gap.
• X (Twitter) — click connect and authorize. Posting to X requires X's paid API access.
• Pinterest — click connect and authorize; you need at least one board (SlingAgent pins to it). Pins require an image. Live pinning depends on our Pinterest app's production access, which is in progress.
• Threads — click connect and authorize.
• TikTok — click connect and authorize. TikTok is video-only, so a TikTok promo posts your rendered short-form video — you'll need the video add-on and a video made for the promo (Make video) before it can post. While our TikTok app is in review, posts may be limited to your own account / private until approved.
• Facebook & Instagram — SlingAgent posts to a Facebook Page you manage, not a personal profile — Facebook doesn't allow apps to publish to personal profiles/timelines, so a Page is required. Don't have one? Create a Page (it's free and takes a minute), then connect. Connect through Facebook: each Page you pick is connected along with its linked Instagram. If you manage more than one Page, you can tick several and connect them all at once. Each link then chooses which Page to post to in its settings (Facebook Page); leave it on default to use your first Page. To add more Pages later, connect Facebook again and pick them. Requirements for Instagram:
  • Instagram must be a Professional account (Business or Creator), and
  • it must be linked to the Facebook Page you're posting to (in the Page's settings or Meta Business Suite → Linked accounts).
  • Instagram posts require an image.
  • If a Page connects without Instagram, SlingAgent will tell you — link IG to that Page, then reconnect.

Connection health

Each account shows a status badge so you always know whether it can post:

• Connected — healthy and ready.
• Expiring soon — access is close to expiring; reconnect when convenient.
• Expired / Reconnect / Disconnected — SlingAgent can't post until you reconnect. Click Reconnect on the account to fix it in a couple of clicks.
• Update needed — we added a new permission the account was never granted. Reconnect to grant it.

If a post fails, the failure is recorded against the account so the badge warns you instead of failing silently. A successful post clears the warning.

We'll also email you when a connection needs attention (expiring, expired, or erroring), with a one-click reconnect — so autopilot doesn't quietly stop without you noticing.
