Promotion Scheduling

Each link's Promotion Scheduling panel controls how often SlingAgent writes new promos — Off, Daily, Weekly, Every two weeks, or Monthly. When it's due, SlingAgent automatically generates a fresh batch so you always have new material.

Set an optional Repeat until date to stop generating after a given day — handy for a launch window or a time-limited campaign. Leave it empty to keep going indefinitely.

Posting spread

Choose how a generated batch lands on the calendar (per link):

  • All platforms the same day (default) — every platform's post is scheduled for the same day, staggered a few minutes apart.
  • One platform per day — the batch drips out, one platform per day.

An optional Start date holds posts until a given day — line up an announcement.

Posting time — Smart vs Fixed

Each link chooses when in the day its promos go out (its Posting time):

  • Smart (default) — SlingAgent studies when your tracking links actually get clicked and schedules posts just ahead of that daily peak, so your content is already live when your audience shows up. Until a link has enough click history, Smart simply uses your preferred hours (below) — so it's safe from day one and sharpens automatically as data comes in.
  • Fixed — always posts at your preferred hours, no matter what the click data says.

Set your account-wide preferred hours and posting days under Settings → Scheduling. Preferred hours are the times of day new promos post at (pick several and a same-day batch spreads across them); posting days let you keep posts off, say, weekends. These apply to every link — as the Fixed schedule and as the fallback for Smart links.

Posting spread, time, and start date apply to the next batch generated. To apply a change to promos you've already generated, click Reschedule upcoming posts (under Posting spread). It saves your settings, then re-lays-out this link's un-posted promos onto fresh slots using the current spread, posting time, and start date — e.g. switching a same-day batch to a proper drip, or moving to your best click hour. Posts that already went out aren't touched.

You can also give each link tags here to organize the dashboard (see Adding links).

Publishing mode

  • Manual — you review each promo and post it yourself with Copy post or Publish now. Available on every plan.
  • Auto — the agent publishes approved promos to your connected accounts on schedule. A paid feature.

On a Manual link you can also schedule an individual post without switching the whole link to Auto. Any promo that has a time shows a Schedule button that hands just that one post to the agent to publish at its scheduled time; Unschedule puts it back to a draft you post yourself. It's the middle ground between posting everything by hand and full Auto — and, like Auto, scheduling is a paid-plan feature.

Publishing

Connect accounts on the Accounts page (see Connecting accounts). Once a platform is connected, each promo for it gets a Publish now button — one click posts it (with its image and tracking link) and links you to the live post. You can also publish several at once.

For Auto links on a paid plan, the agent posts approved promos for you on schedule — no clicking required.

Instagram doesn't make links in captions clickable, which buries your call to action. Turn on Put the tracking link in the first comment (in a link's Promotion Scheduling panel, shown when the link targets Instagram) and SlingAgent keeps the caption clean, then posts your tracking link as the first comment the moment the post goes live.

  • Instagram only. Other platforms (X, LinkedIn, Threads, etc.) allow clickable caption links, so they always keep the link inline.
  • Reconnect Instagram once so SlingAgent can post comments on your behalf — the permission is new. Until you do, those posts simply keep the link in the caption; nothing breaks.

Evergreen recycling

Turn on Keep this link evergreen (in its Promotion Scheduling panel) and SlingAgent keeps a proven link working on its own. Whenever the link's posting queue runs dry — nothing left scheduled to go out — SlingAgent writes a fresh batch automatically, taking a new angle on what's already earned clicks (it reuses the link's winning copy as inspiration, not word-for-word). So an evergreen link never goes silent, and you never have to remember to re-generate it.

  • Works on Auto links (it's about continuous auto-posting). Turn on Auto publishing first.
  • Recycles at most once per link per day, and only when the queue is actually empty — so it never floods your calendar or double-generates alongside a regular cadence.
  • Respects your quota, your Repeat until date, and the global auto-post pause.

Autopilot guardrails

Auto mode stays under your control. From Settings → Autopilot you can (and if auto-posting is paused, a banner on your dashboard reminds you):

  • Pause auto-posting — a global switch that instantly stops the agent from publishing anything, across every link, until you resume. Your schedule and drafts are untouched; nothing posts while it's paused.
  • Cap posts per day — set a maximum number of auto-posts per day as a safety limit. Once the cap is hit, the agent waits until tomorrow. Handy on networks that charge per post (like X).
