Notes

Not everything you post is a promotion. A note is a plain post — just your words, plus an image if you like — sent to the accounts you choose, with no link added. Use it for an update, a thought, a behind-the-scenes photo, a thank-you.

Posting a note

Open Post a note (also on your Dashboard). Then:

  1. Write your note. Quick post sends the same text everywhere; Custom per platform lets you tailor it for each network.
  2. Optionally Add image — it goes out with every post.
  3. Pick your accounts and hit Post now, or Schedule it for later (scheduling is on paid plans).

Your text is posted exactly as written. Hashtag Groups and hashtag suggestions work here just as they do in Share once.

Instagram and Pinterest only accept image posts, so if either is selected the composer reminds you to add an image — without one, those two will fail while the rest go out. TikTok isn't offered (it's video-only).

From the browser extension

The browser extension posts notes too, from a panel right on the page you're reading. Right-click an image and choose Post this image as a note to start one with that image attached, or select some text and choose Post selection as a note to start with it as your words. Write a note in the toolbar popup opens an empty one. Same accounts, Hashtag Groups, scheduling and results as on the web; the panel signs in with your API token, like Share once.

Tracking a note

A note has no link, so there are no clicks to count. Instead, SlingAgent collects what each network reports about the post — impressions, likes, comments and shares — overnight, for posts up to 30 days old. You'll find each note's numbers, per network and in total, under Notes on the Post a note page and on the Dashboard's Notes tab. Notes also appear in the Engagement report alongside your promos (without a click-through rate, since there was nothing to click), and scheduled notes sit on your calendar.

Not every network shares engagement — where one doesn't, the note's row says so.

Removing a note from your list doesn't delete the posts from the networks.
